Why Your Brain Lives in Your Body

Most of us were taught that intelligence lives in the head.

Turns out, that story is incomplete.

Your body is wired with neurons everywhere. The gut has its own nervous system. The heart has tens of thousands of neurons. And the heart is not just responding to the brain. It is leading it.

The heart acts like the conductor of an orchestra. When it is regulated and coherent, everything else falls into rhythm. Your brain waves, your gut, your nervous system, your hormones.

This state is called heart coherence.

When you are in heart coherence, you access your highest brain functions. Focus. Creativity. Intuition. Emotional regulation. Big picture thinking. Compassion. Humor. Playfulness.

All the qualities we want online when making decisions, leading teams, having hard conversations, or navigating uncertainty.

Heart coherence is not complicated. It is a simple practice of breathing slower and deeper into the heart while cultivating elevated emotional states like gratitude, compassion, appreciation, and love.

When this happens, the noise quiets. Your system synchronizes. You hear yourself again.

This is also where intuition lives. Not as a mystical concept, but as a biological and neurological state of coherence.
