My Secret Weapon To Getting Things Done
A trigger goal is the action that precedes the desired action.
Say you have desired outcome/result goal. Make these specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time limited (S.M.A.R.T Goals).
Example: I will be 135lbs by June 21, 2018.
Then, come up with process/progress goals. These are the goals that will get you there, and to check-in to see if you're on the right track.
Example: I will lose 1-2 pounds a week (progress). I will exercise 5 days/week, and make my own meals daily (process).
Then, my favourite, trigger goals. The goal that increases your probability of taking the process goal action.
Example: I will schedule time in my day, everyday, for meal prep and exercise.
And there you have it... goals that trigger you into action. ;)
